The lake is in the central fishing zone. Burbot, Cisco, Lake Whitefish, Longnose Sucker, Northern Pike, Walleye, White Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in Bar Lake.
There are no parks or communities on the lake.
Besnard Lake Recreation Site is 24km WNW of Bar Lake.
