The lake is in the southern fishing zone. Northern Pike, Walleye and Yellow Perch can be found in Bittern Lake.
There are no parks or communities on the lake. Bittern Lake is partially within Muskowekwan 85-53 (Reserve), partially within Muskowekwan 85-6 (Reserve) and within Touchwood No. 248 (Rural Municipality).
Touchwood Hills Post Provincial Park is 7.7km SSW of Bittern Lake.
The lake was officially named on 1956-08-02.
