There are no parks or communities on the lake. Blue Lake is partially within Mistawasis 103 (Reserve) and partially within Leask No. 464 (Rural Municipality).
Big Shell Lake Recreation Site is 19km ESE, Emerald Lake Regional Park is 7km ESE, Memorial Lake Regional Park is 21km SE, Fur Lake Recreation Site is 15km S, Martins Lake Regional Park is 19km NNE and Big Shell Recreation Site is 20km ESE of Blue Lake.
