The lake is in the southern fishing zone. Northern Pike, Walleye, White Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in Branch Lake.
There are no parks or communities on the lake. Branch Lake is within Loon Lake No. 561 (Rural Municipality).
Makwa Lake Provincial Park is 22km WNW, Steele Narrows Provincial Park is 16km WNW, Bronson Forest Recreation Site is 18km N and Fowler Lake Recreation Site is 12km NW of Branch Lake.
