The lake is in the central fishing zone. Lake Whitefish, Northern Pike, Walleye and Yellow Perch can be found in Charbonneau Lake.

Dore Lake Recreation Site is 23km N, Bazill Wildlife Refuge is 24km NE and Rock Island Wildlife Refuge is 22km NNW of Charbonneau Lake.
