Chitek Lake Recreation Site is 18km E, Bug Lake Recreation Site is 24km SE, Lac Eauclaire Recreation Site is 19km SE and Shell Lake Recreation Site is 12km SSE of Deep Lake.
The lake was officially named on 1956-10-04.
