The lake is in the central fishing zone. Burbot, Cisco, Lake Whitefish, Northern Pike, Walleye, White Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in Egg Lake.
There are no parks or communities on the lake. Egg Lake is partially within Morin Lake 217 (Reserve).
Lac La Ronge Provincial Park is 58km SW of Egg Lake.
The lake was officially named on 1968-09-24.
