The lake is in the southern fishing zone. Northern Pike, Walleye and Yellow Perch can be found in Emerald Lake. It was last stocked in 2019 with 100,000 Walleye Fry.

Emerald Lake Regional Park is within the lake. Emerald Lake is partially within Canwood No. 494 (Rural Municipality) and partially within Leask No. 464 (Rural Municipality).
