The lake is in the southern fishing zone. Northern Pike, Walleye, White Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in Goose Lake.
There are no parks or communities on the lake. Goose Lake is within Loon Lake No. 561 (Rural Municipality).
Makwa Lake Provincial Park is 25km WNW, Steele Narrows Provincial Park is 20km WNW, Bronson Forest Recreation Site is 23km N and Fowler Lake Recreation Site is 16km NW of Goose Lake.
The lake was officially named on 1963-09-05.
