The lake is in the southern fishing zone. Northern Pike, White Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in Harris Reservoir. It was last stocked in 2014 with 30,000 Northern Pike Fry.
There are no parks or communities on the lake. Harris Reservoir is within Maple Creek No. 111 (Rural Municipality).
Prairie National Wildlife Area is 229km SW and Cypress Hills Provincial Park (Centre Block) is 17km N of Harris Reservoir.
