The lake is in the central fishing zone. Northern Pike, Walleye and White Sucker can be found in Heritage Lake.
There are no parks or communities on the lake. Heritage Lake is partially within Paddockwood No. 520 (Rural Municipality).
Candle Lake Provincial Park is 16km ENE, Whiteswan Lake (Whelan Bay) Recreation Site is 12km SSW and Waskateena Beach Recreation Site is 22km NNE of Heritage Lake.
