The lake is in the southern fishing zone. We don't know of any fish species that can be found in Mud Lake.
There are no parks or communities on the lake. Mud Lake is within Preeceville No. 334 (Rural Municipality).
Sturgis and District Regional Park (Site 1) is 2.6km ESE and Sturgis and District Regional Park (Site 2) is 14km SE of Mud Lake.
The lake was officially named on 1974-12-11.
