There are no parks or communities on the lake. Sucker Lake is partially within Sturgeon Lake 101A (Reserve).
Prince Albert National Park is 62km S, Cookson Wildlife Management Unit is 18km S, Canwood Regional Park is 13km ENE, Sturgeon Lake Regional Park is 14km W and Canwood Provincial Forest is 14km NE of Sucker Lake.
The lake was officially named on 1956-11-02.
