The lake is in the central fishing zone. Lake Whitefish, Northern Pike and Walleye can be found in Taggart Lake.
There are no parks or communities on the lake. Taggart Lake is partially within Big River No. 555 (Rural Municipality).
Delaronde Lake (Zig Zag Bay) Recreation Site is 32km NW, Hackett Lake Recreation Site is 23km W and Cowan Dam Recreation Site is 12km ESE of Taggart Lake.
