Tway National Wildlife Area is adjacent the lake. Tway Lake is within Invergordon No. 430 (Rural Municipality).
Basin and Middle Lakes Bird Sanctuary is 19km NW, Wakaw Lake Regional Park is 15km NE, Struthers Lake Regional Park is 17km SW and Ingvald Opseth Wildlife Refuge is 13km SW of Tway Lake.
